Memory #26 Breakfast is interrupted by giant robots
Form: The form is a chestnut that can be cracked into half. Four uses.
Vel has Tad and Victory Anna over and Jackie and Yelena arrive for breakfast. Jackie gives Yelena a hard time about fatty meat products, since apparently the Super Patriots Inc.'s diet plan for female superheroes is light on the bacon. Yelena also mentions that she didn't dream about her job, which Tad notes is a sign the brainwashing is wearing off. Torrey is being awkward and leaves, and Yelena doesn't quite get why, but Vel knows.
Tad talks Yelena up to eating the breakfast she wants to eat but Marketing would hate, while Jackie is all 'Vel, this is a terrible idea and you should feel bad'. Jackie thinks Yelena will turn against them, and still resents her for attacking Vel when they were kids, while Velma is certain that Yelena will never go back.
Then Vel gets a call about giant robots terrorizing downtown. So, let's go fight crime! Sparks can fly and Jackie can skate on self-created ice, but other than that, they have Tad's Volvo... which Victory Anna is NOT allowed to soup up. Vel takes up leadership, pointing out that 1) giant robots terrorizing Portland and 2) all of them have reasons to hate The Super Patriots Inc. so let's team up and kick robot ass.
The car trip is terrifying. But they get downtown and Sparks points out that half the robots are making for City Hall and the other half are creating a distraction via property damage. Vel dispatches Sparks and Tag to save City Hall while she, Jackie and Victory Anna clean up the other robots. Time to kick some ass.
