Form: Form: five pieces of team-colored candies, one from each Personae. The candies are flavored to your team (Peridot is lime, Tiger's Eye is lemon, Sapphire is blueberry, etc). One use per piece of candy, so five uses overall!]

Velma is in Santa's part of Winter, so she lands in a snowdrift that isn't actually cold, because that's how Santa rolls -- all the fun of snow without the misery. Santa Claus is standing in front of her and they talk. In the conversation, Vel mentions she was in an alternate timeline -- Santa even alludes to 'It's a Wonderful Life'. Vel assumes it was to teach her some moral lesson, and that it was Jackie's idea, and that Vel is going to kick her friend's ass.

It turned out it was Santa's idea, and that Hailey Ween helped. Vel is all '... I hate all the seasons', and Santa mentions Summer stayed out of it because it can make no claim on Vel.

Vel finally demands some answers as to why the seasons have been interfering in her life. Santa says that they need one another, and Hailey pointed out they had just given her the best of the Real World. Santa also hints that the holiday personifications started out human, like Vel.

Vel is still hurt, and doesn't believe Santa when he says he was trying to help. Santa goes for the guilt attack, telling Vel she walked away from the problem with the Super Patriots, and that something was wrong when Yelena attacked her. This breaks something in Vel, because she can't argue with that. But she still doesn't want to be a toy that the holidays are fighting over.

Vel points out that she's starting to come back, and Hailey reveals there's another test to see how wedded Vel is to the real world: the Hall of Mirrors.

So, Joy has had the second half of this memory, but this is the bit that hurts. Santa is very much a surrogate parent figure, and the one person Vel associated with unlimited love and generosity. Velma's parents were pretty terrible parents, so Santa filled that role. And here she finds out he had an ulterior motive: granted, since he's Santa Claus, he still loves her, but it's sort of like the moment when you realize that your parents are real people with lives outside of you. Except delayed because Santa isn't your Mom/Dad, and Vel could believe that his nature was bound to Christmas so much that his only desire is to spread cheer and give gifts and promote the Christmas Spirit.

Which he's still doing, but in an underhanded way.
